Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has returned home after a first round of treatment for cancer in Cuba.
"I return in better condition than I was in when I left," President Chavez said as he left the plane in Caracas.
He said he had a week of chemotherapy and doctors found no malignant cells. President Chavez had surgery twice last month - once to remove an abscess and once to remove a cancerous tumour.
He has been in power since 1999 and is running for a third term in 2012.
Before going to Cuba President Chavez delegated some of his powers to ministers but resisted calls to hand over all powers during his absence.
He has not given precise details of where the tumour was found, only that he was operated on in the pelvic region.
The president is preparing for more chemotherapy, with some reports saying he might undergo treatment in Brazil.
